As a huge fan of the film, I was so excited to work on this Nightmare Before Christmas product range with my team at Widdop & Co. I worked with Disney assets to create a gothic home range with some pieces that could be displayed all year round for die hard fans. My personal favourites are the incense burner with smoke that slowly drifts out of Jack’s eyes and the gothic frame that could be really subtle once the facepaper is changed to a photo.
This range will be hitting shops in Spring this year, with another set of (still secret) products to be launched in Autumn
A range of licensed PAW Patrol products created in-house at Widdop & Co. Working from a Paramount style guide, I worked with a brand manager to create a character-focused, unisex children’s gift range with fun, custom typography. This is a small selection of the items I have helped design, many more are currently in production and I am super excited for their launch!
Working for Widdop & Co, I was asked to create this RAF licensed giftware range.
As the fans of vintage planes are often incredibly knowledgeable and detail-oriented, I decided to create artwork that had an infographic style and researched thoroughly to make sure every part of the planes and information were correct.
The products in the range included wall art, mugs, washbags, pint glasses and other typically male gifting products. I used an official RAF packaging style guide, along with the illustrations, to create the packaging designs.
Naturecraft was an existing gifting brand that the brand manager wanted to update to include more product categories, particularly sustainable kitchenware. We decided to keep the branding very minimal as it needed to be used for a wide range of animals, from endangered jungle cats to hedgehogs and a range of products from high-end sculptures to everyday mugs & bottles.
I used a combination of original and stock vectors for the animal artwork, making sure the line weight was suitable for wax resist mugs and laser engraving.
The brief was to create a range of mugs with imagery of several icons of classic music and movies that followed nuanced copyright guidelines. I did this by combining iconic photographs of the icons to create original solid black and white vector artwork that evoked timelessness and mass appeal amongst the wide range of fans.
Yappy.com are a personalised gift company that specialize exclusively in dog and cat themed products. My role was to create gift designs that worked around the company’s existing cat & dog icons which can vary quite dramatically in shape within the defined square area.
These products were created for Easter and Christmas gifting.
A selection of the Mother’s Day gift range I created for Yappy.com, created around the existing dog & cat icons. For this range, I focused on sentiment and common, funny pet traits.
A selection of the Father’s Day gift range I created for Yappy.com, created around the existing dog & cat icons. For this range, I focused on humour & parody of popular “Dad” bands and films.
The brief given to me (by Yappy.com) was to create a set of personalised playing cards with a vintage feel. I chose to add the personalisation (pre-made dog icons) to the backs of the cards, the outer box & the joker cards so I had more freedom to play with the suits and royal cards. I researched kings, queens, and jacks from popular culture, and history, and turned them into dog characters with dog pun names. This was a really fun project to work on
A freelance branding project for Lilly & Co Housekeeping, a small local business who needed help with a logo design and social media assets that were clean, modern & elegant to reflect the client houses and salons that she works for.
A print ad campaign for Cardo Systems that focused on a range of products called Freecom. The range includes a good, better & best unit and I wanted to highlight the differences between them without making one seem lesser. I tried to create personalities for each one based on the type of rider that they would be best suited for.
The original illustrations & design was then rolled out over store POS and social media.
Cardo Systems invented a technology called Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) that allows groups of riders on the road to automatically connect with each other whilst changing positions and moving in and out of range of each other, rather than constantly having to stop and reconnect via Bluetooth. Cardo used the phrase “seamless connectivity” to describe this, which was the inspiration for this artwork. I created a simple tessellating shape and tried to illustrate biker characters using only white light to simplify the shapes and help make them fit together more believably.
